About S.P.I.C.E (Sisters Promoting Identity, Culture & Empowerment)

S.P.I.C.E (Sisters Promoting Identity, Culture and Empowerment) is a social group for Lesbian, Bisexual and Trans women of colour.

We meet twice a month on a Friday evening either at The Equity Centre in Bradford or at a pre arranged venue to socialise, make friends and spend time with like minded woman for a non-judgmental fun evening. The Equity Centre provides a safe environment ensuring your privacy is respected and your safety is promoted.

S.P.I.C.E provides support to those that need it through sharing experiences and promoting strength and unity. S.P.I.C.E also aims to increase the visibility of lesbian, bisexual and trans women within the black and minority ethnic communities and to challenge the prejudice and intolerance within society through education and activism.

S.P.I.C.E is a space for you to be yourself. A group for you to have fun in and participate in various activities (all suggestions very welcome!) with other amazing lesbian, bisexual and trans women!

We at S.P.I.C.E are a friendly bunch and you will be greeted to our group with smiles and nibbles!! All lesbian, bisexual and trans women of black and minority ethnic origins along with partners andfriends (even (every now and then) pets!) are welcome, so come along and experience some S.P.I.C.E!

  2. Hello S.P.I.C.E.,
The Together Women Project is starting up a new 1:1 keyworking service based in Bradford. We would like your help to expand our all-female client base, particularly to asylum seekers, refugees and women from black and minority ethnic backgrounds.
We are an all-female charity offering a gender-specific service which provides tailored support for a variety of needs including budgeting, parenting skills, employability, and mental wellbeing. We want to discourage isolation by encouraging participation in activities in the community. We aim to help women to develop their confidence and self-esteem in addressing any issues they may have by offering advice, guidance, focussed workshops and groups. These include anger management, healthy relationships, confidence building, family legal advice, and many more.
If you have any clients who you would deem appropriate to refer to our keyworking service, please could you send their details on to us or signpost them to our service and website. If you need any further information or would like us to visit your centre to give a short presentation about what we do, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
